Field Service Technician (Ref#007)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking a Field Service Technician with experience on mobile mining equipment, especially haul trucks. The position will help service customers on mine sites in Western Canada.

This position will suit progressive technically and mechanically minded Electrical, Mechanical and Electronic Engineers as well as tradespersons. This global technology company is at the forefront of innovative design, manufacturing, and automation systems for industry.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving the performance and reliability of mobile mining equipment through effective troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs and improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Global Field Service Team to continually improve, align and deliver your own high standard of best practice.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development Team by contributing your ideas and suggestions to continually drive up.
  • Carry out maintenance tasks, system checks, and statutory tests as required to keep the control system effective and compliant,
  • Liaise with our clients to report on performance KPIs, lead and coordinate action-based meetings,
  • Participate in product development projects.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • You must be a Canadian citizen or who hold a permanent residency (PR visa).
  • Be qualified as an electrician, mechanic, or completed your engineering in electronic, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, process control or similar engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, suitable for working directly with customers.

Highly Desirable

  • Two or more years of mine site working experience in Canada or equivalent, with a solid understanding of mining operations. 
  • Experience with Komatsu/Caterpillar electrical haul trucks systems.
  • Familiarity with GE control systems.
  • Experience with Siemens PLC.
  • If you are an electrician, Red Seal interprovincial Certificate would be an asset.
  • Hydraulic fluid power and controls experience.
  • Mobile mining equipment electrical or mechanical installation and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of mobile plant maintenance
  • Mechanical or electrical drafting experience using AutoCAD.
  • Instrumentation installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • High-level analytical skills and support for general troubleshooting of product related issues
  • Rockwell PLC Studio 5000 programming and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient computer systems, industrial networks & protocols literacy 
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Ability and desire to work overseas as opportunities arise from time to time.
