JOB DESCRIPTION

Deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced trauma center alongside a team of dedicated health professionals. Confident in skills, committed to exceptional patient care, and safety-aware at all times.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Quickly and accurately assess patient care needs
  • Work collaboratively with doctors and staff to provide exceptional care
  • Perform all requested diagnostic tests
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans collaboratively with doctors and staff
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritizing needs continually
  • Comply with all legal and safety requirements at all times
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment
  • Work at maximum efficiency without compromising quality of care
  • Abide by all hospital rules and regulations
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
  • Monitor coworkers and voice concerns to minimize errors
  • Provide follow up care instructions to patients and make necessary referrals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts
  • Attend all required training and continuing education event

  • Rapid sequence intubation
  • Mechanical ventilation
  • Defibrillation
  • Synchronized Cardioversion
  • Provision of Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Provision of Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Hemodynamic support: inotropes, anti-arrhythmic
  • Emergency Nursing Process
    • Primary Survey and Secondary Survey
    • Initiation of life-saving measures
    • Recognition of pathophysiological basis to emergency
    • Articulation of Trauma Nursing Process
    • Ongoing assessment of nursing care
    • Review of nursing efficacy
    • Patient advocacy
  • Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
  • Recording of 12-lead ECG’s
  • IV cannulation
  • Management of intravenous therapy including blood transfusion
  • Assisting with placement of chest tubes
  • Assisting with placement of central lines including hemodynamic monitoring lines
  • VAD access
  • Initiation of cervical immobilization and spinal precautions
  • Placement of nasogastric tubes
  • Placement of urinary catheters
  • Assessment, reporting and treatment of pressure ulcers
  • Ongoing nursing management of critically ill patients, unable to transfer to CCU/ICU
  • Family health education
  • Acute/acute-on-chronic pain management
  • Emergency childbirth
  • End of life care

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Registered Nurse with current nursing license
  • Basic Life Support Provider with current certification
  • Two years recent acute care nursing experience
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing required
