JOB SUMMARY

Looking for a highly motivated Director of Digital Fundraising to join an alliance-building legal organization that advocates for the right of people to freely live out their faith. As the Director of Digital Fundraising, you are a vital part of the Direct Response Team. In this role, you will report to the VP of Direct Response & Operations and are responsible for creating the strategic direction and managing execution of digital acquisition, cultivation and fundraising with a focus on digital growth in current and new channels. As such, the Director of Digital Fundraising will work collaboratively with the Development, Communications, Mail, and Web teams, as well as agencies and vendors, to build successful and scalable plans. You will be responsible to acquire new Ministry Friend names and donations, cultivate and retain Ministry Friends, and acquire and engage advocates.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Define the digital vision in a measurable, data-driven strategy for the organization as it relates to acquisition and cultivation of Ministry Friends and advocates.
  • Be responsible for the digital fundraising strategy, ensuring optimal integration of digital fundraising with other channels, which includes nurturing and cultivating the audience, not merely asking for a donation.
  • Be responsible for positive ROI strategies targeted within online acquisition and cultivation audiences. 
  • Create a measurable digital fundraising communication strategy to deliver high quality prospects into the database, retain donors and meet the needs of advocates.
  • Drive a basis of deep knowledge and understanding of reachable digital audience and existing database to increase the lifetime relationship and long-term value of names and donors.
  • Optimize all digital direct response strategies ensuring scalability and long-term success. 
  • Create, implement, and measure an organic SEO strategy to increase engagement, web traffic and ministry friend resources to make the organization a household name.

 

Communication Responsibilities

  • Ensure that online communication products are working in a synchronized fashion across all channels, optimizing for optimal donor experience and fundraising goals.
  • Develop relevant and useful digital resources for website visitors and donors to be used across multiple channels and teams.
  • Work closely with Director of Development Analytics and Director of Digital Data and Design to capture, report, and present data and analysis on campaign performance.
  • Work closely with Communications team to drive measurable growth in overall brand objectives and awareness.
  • Represent Development within the organization as a leader in messaging and audience engagement.
  • Participate in ideation sessions, and proactively integrate digital direct response campaigns with other marketing efforts to ensure consistent messaging, visuals, and actions.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and best practices.
  • Research competition, investigate benchmarks, and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Be responsible for ensuring accuracy in communications and ensuring information is relevant.
  • Provide general creative direction and reinforce consistent tone, voice, and adherence to the brand.

 

Team Leader Responsibilities

  • Work to develop an internal team that effectively creates and executes the organizational and Digital Direct Response objectives.
  • Act as a servant leader by training, encouraging, coaching, and developing your Team Member(s)
  • Foster a spirit of trust and innovation on your team
  • Meet regularly with your Team Member(s) to discuss their progress and complete performance review
  • Approve PTO requests, time cards, and expense reports.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Leadership experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or communications.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Direct response marketing principles and digital fundraising tactics that are focused on scalability and increasing net revenue.
    • Thorough knowledge of digital systems engineering, including but not limited to email service providers, social media commerce/fundraising, and marketing automation tools.
    • Brand management and user experience (UX).
  • Proficiency in: 
    • Microsoft Office.
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead concurrent projects of varying size and complexity under deadline.
