JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Purpose: Manage and oversee the general accounting functions of the organization. Ensure accuracy of the financial statements and financial reporting activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The key duties of the role will include but not be limited to: 

• Perform month end closing functions: reports, journal entries, reconciliations,
• financial statements, financial analysis.
• Analyze complex transactions in the general ledger and provide explanation and or corrective action for variances.
• Work closely with General Managers, Business Development, and senior
• stakeholders to provide useful analysis and strategic planning to grow our business.
• Variance analysis of actual vs budget.
• Provide meaningful commentary on financial results.
• Analysis around pricing, margins and profitability etc.
• Regular forecasting, budgeting, and cashflow analysis.
• Communicate results to corporate headquarters. 
• Maintain compliance with GAAP.
• Maintain accounting controls and processes.
• Respond to audits.
• Train office admin staff in functional areas and work with GM to cross train admin staff.
• Provide insights to the business around financial targets and performances.
• Financial modelling for new business cases.
• Consultant to General Managers for creative problem solving on commercial tasks.
• Continuous improvement of financial tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of 5 years Accounting and Financial Analysis experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with accounting packages that are part of an ERP system, especially Syteline.
• Must be flexible, self-motivated and hard-working.
• Experience with cost to completion accounting.
• A remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with the position and skills.
