Plans, implements, and re-evaluates the Infection Control (IC) Program. Directly manages the daily and ongoing requirements of the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Oversees and manages the functions of the IC team to ensure the smooth running of the department as assigned.
Manages the annual budget and monitoring expenditures. Provides cost recommendation for the assigned areas.
Provides an annual review and update of the IC Program as assigned
Prepares the IC quarterly and annual Significant Achievement Report as assigned.
Identifies and implements IC processes related to surveillance, data analysis, and reporting as required.
Contributes towards infection prevention and control programs/services that add value and integrate with departmental facilities and clinical goals/objectives.
Ensures compliance with environmental standards related to Joint Commission International Accreditation
(JCIA), American Institute of Architecture (AIA) for hospitals and healthcare facilities, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other regional and international recognized bodies.
Ensures that the reports related to the environment of care, renovation, construction, and IC data are provided to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner, and the set deadlines are met.
Assists in the appropriate selection and usage of products and equipment related to cleaning, antiseptics, disinfection, sterilization, facility design, and construction.
Utilizes epidemiology/ surveillance principles to identify appropriate communicable disease prevention and control methods.
Assures infection prevention and control practices are evidence-based and consistent with regulatory guidelines.
Establishes and maintains the educational program for IC staff.
Initiates and participates in research/ abstract submissions and symposium presentations, at least once a year.
Responsible for the availability of an electronic IC Program with adequate staff training as required.
Follows all Hospital policies and procedures.
Participates in self and others education, training and development as applicable.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Master's, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Laboratory Science, or other related discipline is required.
Six (6) years with Master's, or eight (8) years with Bachelor's Degree, including two (2) years at a Supervisory/Senior position is required.
Current Licensure from country of Origin is required.
Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required.
